Q: Has there ever been a role you didn’t get that you were really disappointed about?

A: Ya funny enough. ANYTHING in the new Transformer series. But hey I’ve had a great long run and it’s a new deal for the creators of the new show and it’s a clean slate but I have to admit I was sad to see it go. That’s show business folks There’ve been a couple of animated features too, also Star Wars and even the new Transformer films.

UK Transformers Products for 2010

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called UK Transformers Products for 2010.

TFW2005.com members Locustreign and Unitedbot have posted a response from the Hasbro UK Transformers Brand Manager regarding various Transformers items that should see, and in some cases will not see, a release on this shores with 2010.

The email states that the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen N.E.S.T. Scouts and Deluxes figures will be released and that Masterpiece Grimlock will be released in the 2nd half of the year as a Toys \'R Us exclusive.  The mail goes on to state that both the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen N.E.S.T. Voyagers-class and Transformers Animated Arcee and Autobot Ratchet Cybertron Mode will see not be released within the United Kingdom.

Now even though the email is from the current Transformers Brand Manager this is not a 100% confirmation that those toys will not be released.  In many instances in the past we have been told that figures would or would not be released within the UK which went on to be dis-proven.  This is often because the brand managers do not know specific names of items within assortments, that they simply make a mistake, or that things change over time and certain stores import the figures through US based partner companies such as Target or Walmart.  This is more likely to be the case for the NEST figures as Hasbro were pushing them hard pre the UK toy fair.

KOLD launches first knock-off Lucky Draw

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called KOLD launches first knock-off Lucky Draw.

Genzaho of KOToys.com has publicly announced the release of the first KOLD figure (Knock-Off Lucky Draw for those wondering what the name means).  The figure is a gold chromed knock-off Henkei Convoy and is 100% non-official (I.E no parts of this toy are made by TakaraTomy or Hasbro Inc).  The figure is, for now, being sold exclusively through KOToys.com with an original run of 250 items.  If you look quickly you may be fooled into thinking that this is an actual TV Magazine Gold Henkei Convoy or one of the fakes that was around last year, neither is the case.  Here are some of the things to look out for on this figure to know that it is a fake and not an original, official item.

  1. The plastic joints are a darker brown that any official lucky draw figure that has been seen.
  2. The figure has no copyright markings.  This is because it is using the KO mold.
  3. The Autobot insignia are larger than they should be.

One thing to be careful of though is that this figure was chromed whilst on the spruce and not afterwards.  This means that it will have the \"snap\" marks on the gold chrome which have, in the past, be used to try to help identify some of the fakes.  From speaking to Genzhao we known that between 25 and 50 of these have be sold to one or two people in China so we urge everyone that if you are offered a gold Henkei Convoy to look very carefully at the figure, ask to see the copyright markings.  Compare any images to images of this toy and the ones features in our fake Gold Henkei Convoy gallery.  If the toy you are offered looks like either of these then there is a good chance that it is a fake or knock-off item so ensure that you know before you part with your cash.  KOToys is selling these for $59.99 so if you do wish to get one you can buy them direct from them.

We will create a gallery soon mirroring the images of this figure to help people compare as well as showing images of a sample of the KOLD figure that has no Autobot symbols and different coloured plastic.

Again, this toy is 100% non-official.  If you see a figure looking like one of these for sale as a real item you are being conned.

For those wondering Optimus Prime\'s profile reads as the following:

OPTIMUS PRIME is under no illusions about how dangerous STARSCREAM really is. The DECEPTICON second-in-command might be a coward, but he\'s still smart and powerful enough to present a real threat to Earth. The AUTOBOT leader has human and AUTOBOT agents combing the globe for the hiding air warrior. As soon as they find him, though, it will be OPTIMUS PRIME alone who goes in to bring him down.

Transformers 3 - Modelling Military Uniform Gig

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers 3 - Modelling Military Uniform Gig.

Seibertron.com has received a copy of some emails relating to a wardrobe modelling gig for Transformes 3

Quote:

Our friend’s two e-mails listed the \'casting call\' first as an unidentified movie, but then the second seemed to be made more specific, directly stating it was for Transformers 3. His theory for the second e-mail with the ACTUAL movie listing-- not enough folks responded with interest toward the first e-mail--.

Now, unfortunately it seems the parts the actors were to play were simply to model wardrobe and such for the movie for pictures, but it was stated that each actor would be seen by the director, so ‘you’ may have had a chance to parlay this into something more.

The response for this event has closed, and it was supposed to actually be \'performed\' on THURSDAY. However, it is good to know that things are moving forward and that we do have a few clues about the human element of the movie: more military men of all ethnicities, 18-35 years old. Another interesting note though is that they listed a separate \'casting call\' for military men who are also of Iranian/Middle Eastern descent.

April TV-Boy Images and news

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called April TV-Boy Images and news.

The latest issue of TV-Boy (Terebi-kun) contained an article about Transformers Animated and confirmed that the show will start airing in Japan in April (the usual time for new anime series) on TV Aichi.  The issue of TV-Boy also came with a DVD where Optimus Prime, voiced by Jiroki Takahashi, gives an introduction to the series.

The magazine once again talks about how the show will be set within the Movie Universe (something it seems that a lot of people missed despite it being reported several months ago, at least it was right here), which is why Bulkhead\'s name was changed to Ironhide (again this was explained in months ago).

You can view some images of the magazine below, expect a full gallery of this and other Japanese hobby magazines later this evening.
