TakaraTomy Website Updates - Broadblast delayed yet again

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called TakaraTomy Website Updates - Broadblast delayed yet again.

TakaraTomy have updated their Generation One website to confirm that Transformers Animated Snarl, Grimlock, Swoop and Blackout will be released in May.  They have also updated the Device Label site confirming that Cheetor will also be released in May.  No mention is made to Broadcast though who does appear on the May release schedule at all despite magazine reports that he would be out next month.  So it is looking like he has once again been delayed.

Marvel UK Panel tomorrow in London

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Marvel UK Panel tomorrow in London.

Simon Furman has posted a reminder on his blog that he will be making an appearance at  London’s Apollo Piccadilly cinema on Lower Regent Street tomorrow,  Saturday 1st May 2010, as part of Sci-Fi London.  Joining Mr Furman will be apanel of UK creators including Dez Skinn, John Freeman, Dan Abnett and Gary Erskine to talk about the creative boom-time of Marvel UK in the 70s, 80s and 90s.  The event kicks off at 11.45AM and hosted by Resonance FM’s Alex Fitch.

Update on Unicron Rumour. Now confirmed Q3 release and to be a remould

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Update on Unicron Rumour. Now confirmed Q3 release and to be a remould .

In an update to the news we bought you earlier regarding the rumoured released of a recoloured Unicron toy both Kapow Toys and Robot Kingdom are reporting having the product included in their listing of September releases by TakaraTomy.  The figure will have a remoulded head and will cost 10,000 yen (£75­).  This also pretty much confirms the figure  to be the third quarter release for the \"Welcome to Transformers 2010\" line of Takara\'s (Sleep Mode Masterpiece Convoy being the first release).

Sambro to release new Transformers Pinball games in 2010

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Sambro to release new Transformers Pinball games in 2010.

We have received word that Sambro will be releasing a new Transformers Pinball game this year for children.  Sambro have released Transformers licensed products before under their New World Toys banner including a whole range of Transformers Animated products.  For those wondering what the products were, you can find them on their website here.

How there pinball game will compare to the pinball games released by other manufactures to tie in to the first and second live action Transformers Movie remains to be seen, but it will be available to toy stores in the not-so-distant future

Rumour: A new Unicron repaint set to be released in Japan in September 2010

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Rumour: A new Unicron repaint set to be released in Japan in September 2010.

S250 has \"tweeted\" another rumour, this time that a new Unicron repaint will be released by Takara Tomy in September  2010.  S250 goes on to speculate that the figure may be released as part of the \"Welcome to Transformers 2010\" theme of TakaraTomy releases.

Again, this should be considered a rumour, but S250 does have a good record for these things hence this rumour report.

Rumour: Airachinid to be Transformers Prime character?

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Rumour: Airachinid to be Transformers Prime character?.

S250 have posted a Twitter update stating that he had \"just heard some rumor about Giant character of coming transformers series\".  This was then followed by the tweat \"something like giant arachnida and dinosaur......\".  Now some of you may remember that towards the end of last year we broke news the Hasbro Inc had submitted a Trademark application to the USPTO for the mark Airachinid could this be the name of this giant character that S250 has heard about?

Its possible, though its also possible that it is in no way related to what he has heard or that what he has heard is simple wrong. Time will tell but you can be sure we will update you if this story develops into anything more concrete, so for now keep it as a rumour.­

In a follow up to our previous story, The Cyber-Gundam Blog has posted a scan from this months Dengeki Hobby Magazine which contains half a page on Masterpiece Convoy Sleep Mode, including a new image.  As reported here earlier, the new MP Convoy will cost you 21,000 yen plus 4 robot points and is the first of four (most likely quarterly) special released that TakaraTomy will be releasing this year as part of their celebration of the 2010 series (Headmasters) .

­TakaraTomy have updated their website with information on more Japanese exclusive campaigns figures.

First up they have a page dedicated to the Transformers Animated EZ Collection \"Crystal\" figures.  These are clear recolours of Transformers Animated EZ Optimus Prime, Prowl, Bumblebee and Starscream.  The figures are Toys R Us Japan exclusives and are due in stores towards the end of this month starting from tomorrow.  You can view images of the toys ­below.

Next up Takara have updated their \"Welcome to Transformers 2010\" sub-section which is an area that will contain information on four other exclusives which will be available by using a \"robot-points\" style stystem.  First up is MP-4S, Masterpiece Convoy \"Sleep Mode\" an all black and grey version of the Masterpiece toy depicting Convoy/ Optimus Prime from his death scene in the original 1986 film, Transformers: The Movie.  The toy is not cheap, costing­ 21,000 yen (that\'s ­£146 or $224) and 4 robot points and comes with his trailer, light up Matrix and recoloured weapons.  The toy is different to the recent e-Hobby\'s MP Convoy Black Edition for tohse wondering.

The Botcon website has under-gone a Generation 2 style facelift over night with a new theme including a poster image showing a Clench to be a recolour of Transformers Universe Onslaught but with a new head.

After their update of Streetwise was leaked (that\'s what happens when you give images a uniform name on websites), the BotCon team decided to play a joke on anyone scrapping for Clench by uploading poorly digitally doctored images of Universe Tankor recoloured as Clench.  For those wanting to see the spoofed images you can find them here and here.

Transformers event at Fordingbridge — Sunday 25th April

Hasbro Q1 Sales Start Strong

Hasbro .Inc have reported their first-quarter sales with revenue rising 8.2% to $672.4m, above analysts\' average estimates. Their net profit nearly trebled to from $19.7 million to $58.9m when comparing Q1 2009 to Q1 2010.  Sales have risen in all major product segments and territories, according to Hasbro. International sales rose by a healthy 17%.  The Hasbro board have also authorised the repurchasing of an additional $625m worth of common stock. In the first quarter, it repurchased 2.2 million shares for $97.7m at an average price of $35.35 each.

While sales in its products for boys rose three per cent, with Nerf and Tonka performing well, it was girls and pre-school that boosted Hasbro\'s first-quarter sales the most, with increases of 16 per cent and 18 per cent respectively. Games and puzzles were up seven per cent.

The official Transformers War for Cybertron website has revealed two more characters from the upcoming game, Air Raid and Breakdown.

Description: Breakdown is a very capable Decepticon warrior, but has one main underlying problem.  He is extremely paranoid that everyone and everything is out to get him.  Being in crowded places is nerve wracking for Breakdown, as he feels like everyone is staring at him, judging him.  He just wants to blend in and do the duty that the Decepticons require of him in anonymity.

In his newly created role as senior VP of international distribution and development, Arnesen will be responsible for managing Hasbro Studios’ global content sales, distribution, channel and program development activities outside of North America, extending across television, online and other emerging media.

Arnesen served as senior vice president of original series and international development at TBS International, where his duties included leading multi-platform programming, production and development; joint venture strategic acquisitions; distribution; and deal-making partnerships.

During his 17-year tenure at TBS, Arnesen generated higher ratings and revenues while overseeing programming and development for the Turner-owned networks, the start up and management of Cartoon Network Studios London, and program management of Cartoon Network Europe as part of his broad portfolio.

At Cartoon Network Europe, Arnesen commissioned and executive produced its first wholly owned U.K.-produced series Skatoony, an unprecedented animated game show with real-life kid contestants. The show reflected his global efforts to expand the kids’ genre and audience with new live-action formats produced through Turner alone and European co-production partners.

Prior to Turner, Arnesen held posts at ScreenSport, the European Sports Network and Sky Sports. He has a Bachelor of Arts honors degree in French and drama from the University of Warwick.

Botcon 2010 Skram to be a Bumblebee repaint?

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Botcon 2010 Skram to be a Bumblebee repaint?.

ACToys.net poster RioRyo has posted images of a blue recolour of Transformers Classics Bumblebee.  The figure, which looks like Botcon Glyph is most likely a Botcon 2010 exclusive, possible based on the G1\\G2 Accelerator Skram.  On the thread over at ACToys RioRyo posts that the toy is made from blue plastic and will \"apparently not come with the faction symbol\", which is an indication that the toy is a early testshot of a Botcon figure.

The NTFA is organizing its second convention, NordCon 2010 (earlier known as Mini-Con 2010) this year. The event will take place in Aalborg, Denmark on the weekend of June 19-20, and registration has just started.

Europe\'s largest Transformers convention, Auto Assembly, has already confirmed ten guests for Auto Assembly 2010 including two guests of honour but we are now able to end months of speculation and confirm the identity of our third and final guest of honour and the second voice actor who is attending this year\'s convention...

After watching the video, we\'re sure you\'ll all agree that Auto Assembly 2010 has the biggest and best guest line-up ever for Auto Assembly. Prior to this announcement, we already had two guests of honour confirmed (Garry Chalk and Derrick J Wayatt) and no less than 8 comic guests (Simon Furman, Nick Roche, Guido Guidi, Simon Williams, Liam Shalloo, Kris Carter, Jason Cardy and Kat Nicholson) and all our guests will be signing autographs and available to meet fans all weekend and each will take to the stage for a Q&A session during the convention.

The convention is taking place between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. It will be a packed weekend featuring toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free workshops run by many of our guests, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced! There will also be Friday and Saturday evening programmes, exclusive for weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a party, a concert by rock band Next Of Kin (including a Transformers themed set with music from the 1986 animated movie!), costume competition, our voice actors will take to the stage to perform a BRAND NEW script written by Simon Furman and we have a few more surprises in store...!

Because of the venue size, we are restricting attendance to a MAXIMUM of 550 people at the convention per day which can be made up of a combination of weekend and one-day attendees and once we hit that total we will be closing registrations so if you want to attend Europe\'s largest Transformers convention, you need to hurry and get your tickets now as we have already had over 230 pre-registrants with over 4 months to go!

Despite our running costs increasing for this year, we have frozen ticket prices from Auto Assembly 2009 and they are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145. Single day passes are available at reduced rates but these are VERY limited.

Casting Calls for Transformers 3 Surface, Filming Dates Revealed

­The blog TransformersLive have collated information from Chicago Craigslist and Acting Auditions which says that the principal photograph is due start soon.  Acting Audtions report that a \"pre-vis scene will shoot at the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana on April 12th, 2010. Filming will take place on industrial property owned by Majestic Star Casino at Buffington Harbor. The scene will be shot during daylight hours and will involve a crew of about 60 people. The set will be closed to the public. The movie crew will shoot a \"rather simple scene\" portraying vehicles approaching the industrial property. The scene is meant to take place in Ukraine. None of the principal stars of the movie, including John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, is expected to be on the set. No extras will be used.

Note: A \'pre-vis\' scene refers \'previsualization\' filming. The advantage of previsualization is that it allows directors to experiment with different staging and art direction options  such as lighting, camera placement and movement, stage direction and editing - without having to incur the costs of actual full-blown production filming.\"

The website goes on to report that

\"The Transformers 3 is now in production and auditions for principal actors are taking place. Director Michael Bay has signed on to direct his third Transformers picture. Pre-shoots start April, 2010. The filming locations are set for Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow and China. Principal photography will run from May 17, 2010 through July 1, 2010. Release Date: July 1st, 2011.
