Transformers Mercedes E550 dubbed Q

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers Mercedes E550 dubbed Q.

Nelson, admin of Michael Bay\'s ShootfortheEdit.com, has posted a picture of the Mercedes E550 on his Flickr account. Nelson, who recently confirmed that the vehicle would not be Jolt, lists the car as the character \"Q\".  Now he does this as a quote meaning it will not be the actual name of the character, but this could also be a reference to Q from James Bond which was short for quartermaster, so could this character be a quartermaster himself?  Time will tell

Gold Movie Bumblebee Lucky Draw

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Gold Movie Bumblebee Lucky Draw.

As we reported ealier in the week, our speculation that the Lucky Draw Canon Bumblebee figure at the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong (ACGHK) would be a gold chrome Bumble bee has been confirmed.

The toy is paintedentirely in gold chrome and is encased within a special display case, much like the  2007 Movie Optimus Prime leader toy offered by Hasbro Hong Kong in 2008.

Like the Movie Leader Optimus Prime, this piece is available to fans who spend big at the Hasbro booth - except this year, because there is only one piece, it is a straightforward case of whoever spends the most at the Hasbro booth over the course of the weekend gets the prize toy!

You can see HK-TF\'s thread here

Gold Chrome Fortress Maximus shown off at CybertronCon in China

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Gold Chrome Fortress Maximus shown off at CybertronCon in China.

During the CybertronCon 2010 show in China a gold Chrome Fortress Maximus was show on display.  Now the item is 100% not a Generation One prize figure and is most likely a fan produced piece as the toy is completely chromed where as official Takara items use \"gold plastic\", either way its a very impressive sight.

Auto Assembly 2010 - The Rush Is On

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Auto Assembly 2010 - The Rush Is On.

Auto Assembly have sent out the following release

Auto Assembly 2010 - The Rush Is ON!!

Every year, the attendance figure for Auto Assembly has grown consistently   from its humble beginnings 10 years ago to becoming Europe\'s largest Transformers convention. One thing that we can always depend on is that no matter how steady bookings are throughout the year - despite the odd surges following major announcements - is that we have a massive rush in the closing   couple of weeks when everyone who hasn\'t booked and wants to attend remembers that they still need to order their tickets..

THAT TIME IS NOW!!

Last year, in the final 18 days we had 85 bookings - 17% of the total   turnout of the convention in the space of just a couple of weeks. We have already set a new European attendance record (at the time of writing this, we have 512 bookings) and with bookings coming in faster than ever, we predict that  the convention could well be a total sell out over the next two weeks or so. At the moment we still have approximately 100 full weekend tickets   available and 50 Sunday passes and that\'s it!

Non-Attendee Packs are also available and there is no limit on the number of these that are available as  they are produced to order. If there are going to be any on-the-door tickets   available, we won\'t know about these until about 48 hours before the convention   and we will announce this on the convention website. If these are available, we *may* have a limited number of one-day Saturday passes on sale, but the only  tickets we can guarantee at the moment are pre-bookings. With the convention being this close, many of you may feel that we have   nothing left to announce and that everything you can see on the website it is for this year\'s convention. Well we still have a LOT more to come...

We have  just confirmed our FOURTEENTH guest for this year - Titan comic artist Lee Bradley who is making a return to Auto Assembly and although Lee will only be  with us for the Saturday, he\'ll be involved in a panel with our other comic guests and will be around all day to meet fans providing sketches and will no  doubt be around for our Saturday night party! But what other announcements do we have on the way? We are going to be announcing the full list of items in this year\'s charity auction shortly (which all of our Non-Attendees will be able to bid on), news on some great prize draws  we will be running for all pre-registrants, full details and images of this  years convention merchandise, and a lot more surprises that we have in  store...!

The convention is taking place over the weekend of Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England.  There will be Friday and Saturday evening programmes that are exclusive for  weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a massive musical  party, costume competition, and the script and disco / karaoke. Weird Al Yankovic to play two UK dates in December

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Weird Al Yankovic to play two UK dates in December.

Its finally happening!  Weird Al Yankovic is playing European dates including two within the UK this year! Credit for spotting this goes to Impactor from our boards for spotting this and The Great Destroyer for letting me know about it.

Weird Al of course played Dare to be stupid in Transformers The Movie and this could well be the UKs only time to see Al play.  I encourage everyone who is a fan of Weird Al to book tickets, if the event is popular enough then he may add more dates, but there is also more of a chance that he will come back in the future.

He is playing the HMV Forum in Kentish Town on Monday 6th December and is also playing in Mindhead the night before as part of the All Tomorrow\'s Parties festival

Auto Assembly 2010 - Less Than Three Weeks Away

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Auto Assembly 2010 - Less Than Three Weeks Away.

Auto Assembly have sent out the following reminder that the event is now less than 3 weeks away

Auto Assembly 2010 - Less Than Three Weeks Away

The convention is taking place over the weekend of 13th - 15th August 2010 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. If you\'ve already booked you know what\'s in store, but if you haven\'t, you haven\'t attended for a few years or haven\'t made up your minds yet, we wanted to let you know what this year\'s convention will be like...

A NEW European Attendance Record!!

Last year we had a staggering 501 people at Auto Assembly 2009 making it not only the largest Transformers convention ever seen in Europe but also made us the first European event to break the 500-attendee barrier that we\'ve all been striving for for so long. However, with three weeks to go, we\'ve already set a NEW European record from pre-bookings with 506 at the time of writing! What this means is that we are going to SMASH last year\'s total. We know a lot of you may be leaving things until the last minute before you book, or may be planning on coming along and paying on the day, but we don\'t want any of you to be disappointed just because you waited \"just one more day\"...

Auto Assembly Needs You!

While we have a great line-up of activities and guests spread over the convention weekend, the most important part of the convention is the people who attend it... you guys! Last year, people felt that it had the best atmosphere EVER at an Auto Assembly event and we want to beat that this time and the more people who are there, the better! What could be better than being surrounded by over 500 like-minded people for a few days of fun?!

The Guests

Since we last contacted you, we\'ve updated our guest list and we now have a massive 14 guests attending Auto Assembly 2010. So far we have:-

* Garry Chalk - voice of Optimus Primal in Beast Wars / Beast Machines and Optimus Prime in Armada / Energon / Cybertron
*Scott McNeil - voice of Rattrap, Waspinator, Dinobot and Silverbolt in Beast Wars and Beast Machines
* Derrick J Wyatt - lead character designer for Transformers: Animated
* Jim Sorenson - co-author of the Allspark Almanac
* Bill Forster - co-author of the Allspark Almanac
* Simon Furman - legendary Transformers comic writer
* Nick Roche - IDW comic artist

* Simon Williams - artist
* Liam Shalloo - IDW colourist
* Kris Carter - IDW / Titan colourist
* Jason Cardy - colourist
* Kat Nicholson - colourist
* Lee Bradley - Titan artist (Saturday only)

As you can see from the line-up, Guido Guidi is no longer able to be with us due to family commitments. However, we are now being joined by writer James Roberts. James is Nick Roche\'s co-writer on the stunning Last Stand Of The Wreckers series, and is also responsible for the critically-acclaimed fan novel Eugenesis.

And ALL of our guests will be on hand all weekend signing autographs and will take to the stage for Q&A sessions. Most of our comic guests will also be sketching for fans during the weekend.

The Activities

It\'s going to be a packed weekend. Infact it will be so busy that we don\'t think you\'ll have time to fit everything in! Starting at around 5:30 pm on Friday until 6:00 pm on Sunday, there will be something for everyone no matter what era of Transformers you are interested in!

The main part of the convention takes place on the Saturday and Sunday between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm but there are bonus programmes on the Friday evening from 5:30 pm until 11:00 pm and Saturday evening from 7:00 pm until 1:00 am so while you can attend for just the one day, it really pays to be there for the full weekend!

But what exactly will the convention be offering? Well, here\'s a list of some of the things we have planned...

Get Wrecked At Auto Assembly 2010

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Get Wrecked At Auto Assembly 2010.

Auto Assembly has issues another press release and YouTube video update announcing another guest as well as confirming that Auto Assembly 2010 has received (by midnight) 501 pre-registrants, meaning that the after one more booking the convention will break its own European Transformers Convention attendance records with three weeks to go!

Get Wrecked At Auto Assembly 2010...!

Auto Assembly 2010 is now only three weeks away but rather than going into hiding for the remaining time to finish preparations, we are busy working on even more surprises and announcements to make this a convention you will never forget...
We have now made a couple of changes to our guest line-up for the convention. Sadly, Guido Guidi is no longer able to join us. Owing to personal reasons and the pressures of an impending house move, Guido is unable to be with us, and despite being disappointed at missing the convention, he is hoping to make his return in 2011...
However, thanks to an incredible fundraising campaign started by members at the Moonbase 2 forum we do have another guest. He is a comic writer who has worked for IDW and he is... well, just watch this video and find out...
And we still have lots more to announce...!
We have frozen the ticket prices for the convention from Auto Assembly 2009 and full weekend tickets are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145.
One day tickets for Saturday have sold out, but one day tickets for Sunday are still available and cost £25 for adults, £18 for children, students or senior citizens and under 5\'s as always are free. However as they are limited, if you want to come along for just the day then you need to book NOW!
Because of the rate that bookings are coming in, and the popularity of the one-day passes last year, we cannot guarantee that single day tickets will be available to purchase on the door and it is looking likely that we may not have ANY on-the-door places available for the full weekend so pre-registration this year is a must!
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk
We hope to see you all in August 2010.

Shattered Glass Ravage Bio

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Shattered Glass Ravage Bio.

The Transformers Collectors Club has posted the bio for BotCon 2010 Shattered Glass Ravage online.

Ravage- Good Kitty
\"Out of Sight, out of mind. GTG TTYL\"

Ravage always wants you to know exactly where he is, and what he is doing. An endless attention seeker, he can always be found perching from the top of the most visible structure, excitedly waving his little paw, hoping you catch a glimpse of him. Megatron has long since ordered Decepticons to maintain eternal radio silence, not only because of the possibility of Autobot interference, but because Ravage can\'t stop sending radio communications, telling others his location and what his current moos is. Now that he\'s on Earth, he\'s become addicted to social networking and micro-blogging. Unsurprisingly, none of his fellow Decepticons have followed through on his friending requests.

Problem with Power Core Combiner Conbaticons

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Problem with Power Core Combiner Conbaticons.

Many thanks to Adam for pointing out a bug, and his fix, for the Transformers Power Core Combiners Combaticons figures - in which the toys legs pop off.

 Hello TF@The Moon,

I\'d like to report a problem with the Power Core Combiners sets [or at least the Combaticons], and the resultant fix. I haven\'t heard of this from anyone else, so perhaps it\'s just early days, or perhaps my toy was unique in it\'s fault.

With my Bombshock, I found that his combiner legs would spring off very easily, in fact, while he was being held [or even standing on his own!] his legs would slowly ease apart at the knee and the combiner drone would shoot off. This is due to the springs in the \'leg drones\' being way too powerful, and the blue joint being too loose. Here\'s my fix:

With the grey tracked vehicle, the spring is visible towards the rear end. Simply get a drawing pin or sewing needle, and ease the arm of the spring away from the inside wall of the vehicle. The arm can then be folded away or cut off with clippers.

The yellow jeep is a bit more complex. The two pins at the front end need to be tapped out. I did this [again] with a drawing pin and a hammer. The second pin can be tapped out with the first one. This will cause the levers inside to fall down, and the spring with come out. To re-assemble, simply push the pins back inside, making sure that the black lever lines up again [easier than it sounds!].

The legs will no longer be spring loaded, but gravity and the internal levers do the job just as well, if not better! They still won\'t take much pulling around, as the blue pegs are simply too loose, but the won\'t come shooting off at the slightest touch.

I hope this helps anybody who\'s had a similar problem!

PS: Deluxe Generations were found in my Exeter Toymaster yesterday, priced at £9.99! Mistake, or new price point?

Regards,

Adam

More TF3 news plus Ferrari named

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called More TF3 news plus Ferrari named.

Nelson has posted on Shoot for the Edit once again with another update on Transformers 3

Nelson here...

I arrived at the Chicago Michigan Ave. set on Friday, July 16th. I was greeted by Mike Case (Bay\'s assistant) and was taken to Bay\'s monitor tent which was in the middle of a war zone. Michael greeted and proceeded to ask some things about the site. He then took out his iPad and showed me animatics of some sequences. Holy moly. This movie is going to be huge!!! In my opinion, more epic than TF2 with the first time amazement of TF1. I wish I could tell you what I saw on the animatics, but I can\'t.

Bay was filming a scene with Shia (Sam) & Rosie (Carly) in which they were hiding within a wrecked and flipped car. At around that time the temperature hit 102 degrees (including humidity index). It was so hot that Shia was sweating through his leather jacket and as was Rosie. Back to the scene... apparently the scene is one in which a Decepticon is hunting for them. As Bay filmed this, a cue from the score was played to add to the suspense.

As the crew broke for lunch, I met Lester Speight (Coltrane on Gears of War) and went on to lunch with him. He was very nice and delightful.

Later, I got to meet the rest of the cast: Shia, Rosie, Tyrese, and Josh.

I had the pleasure of talking to Shia for for about 30 minutes and with Tyrese and Josh for another 30 minutes. All these guys have an impressionable work ethic, are fun to talk to and down-to-earth people. And that goes for the rest of the crew. I many many nice and professional people that are working their hardest to make this movie successful and entertaining.

As the day came about, Bay, Shia, Tyrese & Josh all came to meet than fans that had been waiting since 7am to catch a glimpse down the street. They also were interviewed by CBS 2 TV in which Bay praised the city of Chicago.

As always, Bay left the best for last. Explosions and gunfire!!

That\'s it for now. I will post a video of some of the activities later.

Enjoy.\"

He also comfirmed that the name of the Ferrari 458 Italia is Rush. (highlight to read)

\"Since February 2010, I have been working (as a storyboard artist) on a new animation project that has been kept super top secret. ...So there you go... Don\'t ask me any questions about it cause that\'s pretty much all I am allowed to say at this point! If you want to know more about the show - get yourself to SDCC and attend this panel! And before you even ask, no I will not be one of the people onstage at the panel answering questions. As a humble storyboard artist I am just one of the many little cogs in the great big machine. But I\'ll certainly be in the audience and I hope some of you guys will be too.

Later, gang!

Jim Sorenson\'s blog update on Auto Assembly 2010

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Jim Sorenson\'s blog update on Auto Assembly 2010.

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, The Disciples of Boltax, with comments regarding his and Bill Forster\'s appearance at Auto Assembly 2010.

I\'ve got some news that I find incredibly exciting.  This year, both Bill Forster and I have been invited to Auto Assembly, Europe\'s largest Transformers convention.  As I haven\'t been to England since 2006, I\'m extremely excited to get the chance to go back and mingle with the terrific fan community out there.  In addition to hanging around and making a nuisance of ourselves all weekend, we\'re tentatively planning to use our time on Sunday to give a brief presentation on some behind-the-scenes artwork from various generations that hasn\'t been published before, before shifting to a traditional Q&A session.

Other great guests include Derrick Wyatt, Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil, Simon Furman, Nick Roche, Guido Guidi, and many more.  This looks like a must-attend convention if you\'re native to the British Isles.  If you were at all on the fence about coming to this con, I strongly urge you to preregister now, as the spots are filling up quickly and there\'s no worse feeling than having to turn someone away from an event like this.

I have to extend my warmest thanks to the convention organizers and especially to Steve and David Mapes from Transformers At The Moon for making this happen.  I love smaller conventions, so it really is quite an honor to be invited. AA at AA... feels like a natural fit, doesn\'t it?

Please come by and check out the new show we have been working so hard on. Here is the panel info...

Press Release: Auto Assembly 2010 Announces More Guests

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Press Release: Auto Assembly 2010 Announces More Guests.

Here is a copy of the latest Auto Assembly 2010 press release.

Auto Assembly 2010 Announces More Guests!

We\'re less than four weeks away from Auto Assembly 2010 but that hasn\'t stopped us from adding even more to our line-up to make this the best convention we have ever put together...

We are now proud to announce the addition of TWO more guests to the convention in the shape of Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster, writers of the Allspark Almanac and it\'s newly released follow-up! Making their European convention debut, they will be on hand all weekend to meet and talk to fans and sign autographs and they will be taking to the stage on the Sunday to give a presentation and take questions about their work on what is considered to be one of the best Transformers books released for years.

Their appearance at Auto Assembly 2010 has been made possible thanks to the incredibly generous sponsorship from Steve and David Mapes from Transformers At The Moon (www.transformertoys.co.uk) and means that the convention will have THREE major Transformers Animated guests this year, and all of them will be on stage in turn on the Sunday. If you have even the slightest interest in Transformers Animated, you won\'t want to miss this year\'s event!

That\'s not all though, adding to that the convention exclusive edition of IDW\'s Transformers Issue 9 with an exclusive cover by Nick Roche and Liam Shalloo, a concert by Garry Chalk, a live script performance featuring Garry Chalk and Scott McNeil from a BRAND NEW script written exclusively for the convention by Simon Furman, a Saturday night disco and karaoke with singing by Scott McNeil, dealers, 13 confirmed guests with talks, autographs, competitions, workshops, displays, and a video games area showcasing 25 years of Transformers video games... could you ask for anything more?!
