TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called More boxed Dark of the Moon Megaton images.

In a follow-up to the news story we bought you on Christmas Eve which included the first images of the Transformers Dark of the Moon toy packaging, ACToys.net have posted two new images of the Chinese packaging for Dark of the Moon M­egatron.  The packaging appears to be a sample as there is plenty of space left on the back and it is missing the writing from the previous images.

Back in September TakaraTomy ran a competition where 40 lucky people could win a silver chromed Transformers Animated Bumblebee figure,  well it pleases my to announced that we own one of those figures and can now bring you the first full and detailed look at this limited edition Lucky Draw.  You can find the image gallery on LuckyDrawTransformers.com as well as on Transformers At The Moon.

Our normal digital SLR is currently on its way to New York, so the images were taken with my video camera but don\'t worry, its an HD camera so the quality is still pretty good.

Included are comparisons to the Optimus Prime Gold Version as well as the normal Bumblebee.

Transformations 2011 Cancelled

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformations 2011 Cancelled.

Transformations 2011 has been cancelled, announces organiser Paul Cannon on the official website.  Transformations 2011 was going to be a London based Transformers Convention taking place in April 2011, the first since Paul\'s previous Transformers convention Transforce stopped running a few years ago.  According to the website, the event was cancelled simply due to a lack of registrations.

This means that the UK is back to being a single dedicated Transformers Convention with Auto Assembly.  There are other events that take place during the year which include Transformers, but there is no other dedicated event.

For those of us who were fortunate enough to attend Transforces in the past, I can tell you that, with the exception of the last TransForce, each event saw the convention grow with an atmosphere similar to the last two Auto Assembly\'s.

Images of G1 Rodimus Prototype now available

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Images of G1 Rodimus Prototype now available.

In a follow-up to the news we bought you yesterday afternoon regarding Hyper Hobby Feb 2011 containing an article and images of a newly unearthed Generation One Prototype of Rodimus Convoy that TakaraTomy recently found in a warehouse, we can now bring you some low resolution images thanks to Masabon from TFW2005.com.  The figure is actually a hardcopy and is significantly taller than the released version.  According to the text this was the original Rodimus toy that wa s designed by Takara but the toy was nixed by Hasbro in favour of a smaller, cheaper version that was eventually released.

We will keep our eyes out for higher resolution scans, and if we find them we will let you know.

I have updated the website with image galleries of the latest issues of both TV Boy and Figure King.  Both issues contain pages dedicated to Transformers United as well as Masterpiece Rodimus including another interview with the designer (in Figure King)

Feb Hyper Hobby Magzine - New G1 Rodimus prototypes unearthed

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Feb Hyper Hobby Magzine - New G1 Rodimus prototypes unearthed.

Snakas has posted his round-up of the contents of the Feb issue of Hyper Hobby Magazine and as part of it has announced a very interesting turn of events that took place at the TakaraTomy offices this year.  As part of an interview regarding Masterpiece Rodimus, the content of which is very similar to other magazines, Snakas reveals  that two photographs are shown of prototypes of the 1985 Rodimus figure that Takara Tomy only recently found in an warehouse.  The article then goes on to talk about that design, the concept and decide of the Masterpiece figure and what had to change during the design process.  Snakas does not go into a great deal of detail but instead urges people to go out and buy the magazine. We will keep an eye on out for scans of the article as it sounds like it will be very interesting.

In other content Transformers United is the main theme that the magazine focusing on, covering the normal releases as well as the e-Hobby exclusives though there are general images and articles on both Masterpiece Rodimus and the re-issue of Masterpiece Megatron.

KOToys.com purple seeker now available

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called KOToys.com purple seeker now available.

KOToys.com have announced their latest knock-off release a purple recolour of Classics / Henkei Starscream based on the seeker clones from the Generation One series.  They are pricing the toy at $30 and its worth having a look over, even if you are not interested in buying out, just so you know what to look out for in case someone tries selling it as an official item.

TFW2005.com board member Beastbox X has posted a sighting or the Transformers Stealth Force Motorcycle Assortment in a Wal-Mart store within Athens, Ohio priced at just under $7 each.  The toys are packed four to a case, with an even split of Knock Out and High Wire figures.  You can view a mirrored image below.

ACToys.net­ are the latest ­site to have one of the leaked figures.  Expect Hasbro to once again look to pull the images.

Facebook remove Toys DOTM account

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Facebook remove Toys DOTM account.

Well its finally happened, from the looks of things Hasbro\'s lawyers got onto Facebook and the user who was known as Toys DOTM, who leaked images of the Megatron Dark of the Moon Toy and announced this morning that they would be leaking the DOTM Ironhide tomorrow (probably today in which ever country that are from), has now had their Facebook account seemingly removed along with the images that they were hosting.  The images are still available on Facebook under various others groups as well as on the Internet.  We expect this will be a continuing trend over the next few month as Hasbro would have signed exclusivity contracts within the US so that certain publications can print the first images of the Dark of the Moon figures and characters.  The toys will also, no doubt, be shown off at the various Toy Fairs which take place around the world in Jan, Feb and March including the British Toy Fair.

So far images of Optimus Prime, Megatron and Ironhide have been leaked (that I know off), though there is no doubt that users of 4Chan can expect to find images posted on that site by disgruntled Asian staff wanting to sell stolen samples.

Jim Sorenson posted the fifth part of the Hasbro Briefing Binder that was won as a part of the Ron Friedman auctions over on his website Disciples of Boltax.  The fifth part is split into two section, one featuring the humans and spaceships and the other on the backgrounds.

Hasbro Instruction Sheets reveal two more upcoming toys

Hasbro have updated their instruction sheet section with entries for Generations Kup and Scourge which have once again contained line-art for their remolds. Scourge will be recoloured with a new head to become Leozak from Transf­ormers Victory with Kup also being recoloured with a new head to become a \"tbc\" figure, possibly Orion Pax.  You can view the images below.

Transformers Prime to debut on Teletoon in Canada from Jan 9th

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers Prime to debut on Teletoon in Canada from Jan 9th.

Cybertron.ca board member Takao has reported that Teletoon will begin airing both Transformers Prime and GI Joe: Renegades from Sunday 9th January 2011.  It was previously announced that Corus, the owners of Teletoon had licensed the show but it had not been confirmed wether the show would air on Teletoon or YTV (whic they also own).

100 Greatest Toys - Tomorrow evening at 6pm

This is a reminder that the 100 Greatest Toys with Jonathan Ross will air tomorrow evening at 6pm on E4 within the UK.  The show will then be streamed online via the 4OD (4 on demand) service.  As you may recall, Transformers was one of the possible choices that viewers could vote for and its sure to have made the list somewhere, though most likely Lego will win, so be sure to check out this three hour show to find out what number Transformers come in at.

TFW2005.com are reporting that the Transformers Reveal the Shield Jazz and Tracks have now been released in Ireland and are available at Smyths stores.

Smyths also have a UK presence so it is possible that these toys might start finding their way across the Irish channel and into UK retail outlets in the coming weeks rather than next Spring as was Hasbro\'s original plan.

Reveal the Shield G2 Optimus Prime

It\'s been a busy news day for me, I\'ve not posted this many news stories in years.

HK-TF.com member L-U has posted an extensive look at Reveal The Shield Deluxe G2 Optimus Prime.  The figure is an updated version of the Geneation Two Laser Rod Optimus Prime (one of the best ever Transformers toys).  The figure features amazing articulation and a sword, but i\'m not so convinced on the head.

Q.1 To start with, tell us a little bit about yourself, Ms. Montano. What is your background? How did you get into acting and voice-acting? What roles have you starred in before?

I’ve been acting since I was a kid, but mainly as a hobby and extra-curricular activity in high school and college. After I got my undergraduate degree from Harvard, I became an investment banker. But after a couple years of doing that, I realized life is too short to be working in a career that you don’t really love. So I quit and decided to become an actress.

My first voice-over job was a radio commercial. My first on-camera job in Hollywood was a recurring role on ER. I’ve enjoyed playing a lot of different guest-starring roles on TV, including shows like Bones, Boston Legal, Big Love, and most recently on a new comedy called Glory Daze. Transformers Prime is really my first TV series where I get to play a “starring,” series regular role.

Now is Nelson simply teasing fans or is this the reveal that the spaceship seen in the trailer is actually The Ark?­

I have updated the website with an image gallery of the latest additional to our ever-expanding collection, the Toy Hobby Market exclusive, \"Welcome to Transformers 2010\" Universal Dominator Unicron figure.  The toy is a heavily recoloured Armada Unicron with a new head sculpt based on the 1986 Transformers: The Movie cartoon.  If I were to sum up the toy in one word that world would be AMAZING.  TakaraTomy not only gave the figure a much improved head, but the new colour scheme vastly improved what was already a pretty good toy.  The figure is painted in such a way that it highlights many of the details that were hidden on the previous version of the mold.

The image gallery includes comparison photographs with the Armada version of the toy as well as the Lucky Draw Green Unicron figure that we own.  You will also see side-by-side comparison images of the mini-cons to highlight the differences with Dead-End as well.

Jim Sorenson has posted an update on his blog regarding the Ron Friedman auction that he won that contained the preliminary script for Transformers: The Movie (that\'s the 1986 film).

\"Last month, a group of dedicated fans pooled their resources to attempt to purchase a piece of Transformers history; scripts and other documents from Transformers movie writer Ron Friedman.  Many scripts were won by our coalition, but perhaps the most anticipated among the many documents we purchased was an early draft of The Transformers: The Movie, dated 4/27/1985.  I\'ve scanned it in and done a preliminary OCR pass, so without further ado, here it is for download!\"

The script contains the dialogue for many scenes that did not make the final draft including Megatron\'s reference to his \"Spark\", action for Sunstreaker and Wheeljack and the how the fate of Earth was also going to hang in the balance.  Some of the information was already known about, like the Predacons originally being Autobots called Anibots, but what is new (at least to us) is that their names were finalised as Simba (Razorclaw), Pardo (Rampage), Shriek (Divebomb), Thump (Headstrong) and Clump (Tantrum).  Its well worth a read.

Weird Al Yankovic completes UK Tour

Weird Al Yankovic completed his first ever UK and European tour last night with a headline date at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town.  Al put on an awesome show, as always, for the sold out arena with possibly the biggest pop of the night coming when he played a clip of Transformers Animated showing Ratchet and then Wreck-Gar which was, of course, followed by Dare To Be Stupid.

Though a loose link to Transformers, I enjoyed the show so much I thought I\'d mention it here.  If you could not see Al this time do not worry as he has stated his desire to return to the UK within the next three years to play more venues.

I have updated www.transformer-prime.com as well as its parent site www.transformertoys.co.uk with some new high-resolution stills from the first four episode of Transformers Prime.  This now means that you can find HD stills from all five parts of Darkness Rising on both websites.

You can find the image galleries easier on Transformers Prime here, here, here and here (for the sake of completeness, part 5 can be found here).

I have also updated the code behind Transformers-Prime.com so that when viewing the resource galleries, if there is more than one page of images as well as clicking on the \"jump menu\" to navigate between pages you can also press the CTRL key on your keyboard and then type in the number of the page you wish to view.  You have 1 second from pressing the CTRL key to complete the keystrokes though, so best not dawdle.  So to jump to the third page simply press CTRL then release that button and press the 3 key (it can be on the numeric keypad or the main keyboard it doesn\'t matter).

Other strong performers for The Hub included weekend performances of the “Mega-Muppet Movie Mania!” event that featured back-to-back presentations of popular Muppet movies (Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets from Space, Muppet Christmas Carol) on Saturday and Sunday.

For the week, The Hub also remained the top co-viewed network among all kid cable networks in K2-11 and A18-49.

Programming highlights:

* The “Transformers Prime”/”G.I. Joe Renegades” block of special programming on Friday from 3:30 p.m.-7 p.m. generated significant gains audience versus the previous week among households and key demographics: HH (+111%, 97,000), Persons 2+ (+133%, 142,000), Kids 2-11 (+130%, 62,000), Kids 6-11 (+78%, 32,000), Adults 18-49 (+117%, 50,000) and Women 18-49 (+120%, 11,000).

* Special back-to-back runs of new half-hour episodes of “Transformers Prime” on Friday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. delivered significant audience increases versus the previous week: Kids 2-11 rose by +102% (76,000/90,000); Kids 6-11 by +55% (47,000/49,000); Adults 18-49 by +225% (87,000/95,000); and Persons 2+ by +174% (176,000/223,000). Against the prior four weeks, Kids 2-11 increased +219%; Kids 6-11 by +140%; and Adults 18-49 by +507%

* Saturday and Sunday’s “Mega-Muppet Movie Mania!” special event earned triple-digit percent delivery gains over the prior week with several key demos: Adults 18-49 (+169%, 86,000); Women 18-49 (+156%, 46,000) and Kids 2-11 (+126%, 70,000). Double digit increases were delivered among HH (+75%, 126,000), P2+ (+97%, 193,000) and K6-11 (+21%, 29,000).

Co-Viewing:

* For this week, The Hub was the top co-viewed network among all kid cable networks among Kids 2-11 and Adults 18-49. Thirty two percent (32%) of Kids 2-11 watched with an adult 18-49, out-performing all kid networks, including Nickelodeon (23%), Disney Channel (22%) and Cartoon Network (21%).

* For the week, in total day, The Hub delivered double digit audience growth versus the prior week in the following key demos: HH (+16%, 57,000); Persons 2+ (+18%, 79,000): Kids 2-11 (+12%, 28,000); Adults 18-49 (+27%, 33,000); and Women 18-49 (+13%, 17,000).
