\"This week, it\'s time for the Ark Addendum from The Insecticon Syndrome, part two.  We get some really nifty interiors and exteriors in this episode, including the Nova Power Plant and the Iron Mountain military base. 

It was consuming the Nova Power Core that made the Insecticons grow large and unstable.  Really, the episode has a very odd structure.  The Insecticons are enlisted to help the Decepticons, attack a power plant, grow large, attack the real target, turn on the Decepticons.  All the while, they\'re getting ready to explode... it\'s just sorta random.  It almost feels like two episodes smushed together.  As much as I have a nostalgic bone for the classic Transformers, newer shows really are much tighter and more well written.\"

Toy Industry magazine ­­Toy News\'s Samantha Loveday recently sat down with Hasbro Europe\'s Country Manager for UK & Irelan, Foye Pascoe to discuss the recent success of the company.  Below are some quotes that contained Transformers related anwsers, but you can read the full article here.

How has the UK market performed so far this year? Are we in better shape than this time last year?
Hasbro UK has experienced a 14 per cent growth (UK NPD EPOS YTD June 2011). This is due to the strong performance of the recent Transformers movie, and a number of our key brands including Play-Doh, Furreal Friends and Nerf and our key licensed properties within the boy’s category.

What lines have performed well for you so far this year?
We are proud that we have experienced good performance across the full range of our toys and games.
Not only are some key films helping deliver the Transformers and Marvel toy lines, but we are also seeing growth of our classic brands such as Play-Doh, Furreal Friends, Nerf and Supersoaker.

Are there any sectors in particular which have stood out? Boys must have been boosted by the new Transformers lines, for example?
The boys segment has undoubtedly been boosted by a number of key films; Transformers Dark of the Moon has had a positive impact on the Transformers retail presence. Our alliance with Marvel has delivered strong product lines both for Captain America and Thor this year. Star Wars has had a good year and was the number one property in action figures UK (NPD EPOS YTD June 2011).

Finally, any hot tips from your 2012 product line to watch out for?
2012 will be another great year for action films for which we have a range of boys’ toys and games.

Star Wars re-mastered Episode One will hit cinemas in February. Battleship will preview in May, followed by the much-publicised Avengers film from Marvel later in the month.

The Amazing Spider-man will launch in July. Transformers will continue to connect with boys through Transformers Prime programming on Cartoon Network.

Within our girl’s portfolio, My Little Pony programming is currently on air on Boomerang and connecting with a whole new generation of girls.

Transformers Dark of the Moon Megatron mack truck shown as 50th anniversary celebrations

Google+ user, Brian Griffith, has posted some images that he took over the weekend from Hagerstown in Maryland within the US, where a 50th anniversary celebration was being held to the Mack Truck plant which resides within the town.  Many Mack Trucks were on display including one of the props that was used as Megatron in Transformers Dark of the Moon.  You can view the images here.

Transformers Social Meet - London October 1st

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Transformers Social Meet - London October 1st.

If you are in, or can get to the London area on Saturday October 1st then you may want to pop along to The Shakespeare\'s Head in Holborn at 11am as there will be a social meet for Transformers fans.  The event combines the social events Moonbase 2 ran since 2009, with others run since by their combined site with Kapow Toys known as FullMetalHero.  Member of various other forums and sites include The Nerdsphere and TheTransformers.net will also be on hand as well as some members of this site, Transformers At The Moon.

The event officially starts at 11am at the pub but the plan is that people will meet up there over a 1 hour period before moving onto the nearby shops including Forbidden Planet and Orbital Comics.

As long time visitors to this site will know we have run pub meets in Holborn before (starting back in 2001/2002) and normally meet just around the corner from this pub so you should be able to find it easily enough.

Third Party Products to be sold at Auto Assembly 2012

There were a lot of discussions about this after the Auto Assembly 2011 to see what we could do to get the 3rd Party toys back at Auto Assembly.  Well here\'s the official word.

For the last few years we have had an official policy here at Auto Assembly regarding the sale of unofficial and third party products at the convention. We know that many of our dealers do stock a wide range of third party produced toys and toy upgrades, and a growing number of fans do collect these alternatives to Hasbro and Takara Tomy produced products so there is a genuine demand for them at Auto Assembly.

Since Auto Assembly 2011, we have been looking at this carefully and we are going to be revising this policy extensively for Auto Assembly 2012 and we hope to be announcing details this week of a new policy which we believe will be much fairer to dealers and attendees alike, ensuring that a much wider range of third party products will be on sale at Auto Assembly 2012. There will still be some products that will be on our “banned” list which are in direct breach of Hasbro or Takara Tomy’s trademarks / copyrights, but we are convinced that everyone will be happy with what we will be announcing!

Don’t forget, Dealer Table bookings are open now for Auto Assembly 2012 and with table prices at our lowest rate for years and with cheaper hotel rates than ever before, there’s never been a better time to come along and trade at Auto Assembly!

After much anticipation, we can proudly announce that tickets for Auto Assembly Europe 2011 are about to go on sale in the next 24 hours through the Auto Assembly Europe website. Tickets will cost €45 for the full weekend for adults, €30 for youths, with single days tickets costing €25. Children under 12 are free and dealers tables are available for the bargain price of just €50 each!
