Botcon 2012 Tracks revealed

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Botcon 2012 Tracks revealed.

Botcon have revealed their 2nd 2012 exclusive figure as the evil Tracks.  We predicted the figure uses the Transformers Universe Tracks mold but is recoloured red like Road Rage, the E-Hobby exclusive figure. Tracks is from the Shattered Glass universe which is why he is an evil Autobot

Do not be surprised if you find a black version is also released as an additional toy at some stage. You can view the images below.

The team behind the Perfect Effect line of third party Transformers products, have posted an update on their blog that contains a teaser image of both Lio Convoy (Beast Wars II) and Big Convoy (Beast Wars Neo).  Does this means that both of these characters will be seeing a 3rd party release?  Most probably. If that happens, then you can expect to see black recolours based on their BWII and BWNeo recoloured figures as well as potentially a Flash and Galva-Leo Convoy version.

Update on the Jet Fair Chinese Factory working conditions

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Update on the Jet Fair Chinese Factory working conditions.

Recently we reported a news story regarding allegations regarding factory conditions at a factory in China called Jet Fair that Hasbro used to produce many of their products including Transformers. Well Hasbro issued a press release on the 22nd of December regarding the factory, a copy of which you can view below.

Hasbro Inc. Statement Regarding NGO Allegations on Factory Conditions

Immediately following some unsubstantiated allegations posted by an outside group regarding working conditions at the Jet Fair factory, Hasbro, together with ICTI, deployed a team to investigate, as we take such claims very seriously. Following an unannounced, nine-hour inspection of the facility this past week, we are satisfied that Jet Fair meets with Hasbro\'s rigorous requirements.

While Hasbro is committed to continual improvement in all facets of corporate social responsibility, including continued ethical product manufacturing at Jet Fair and all factories that produce Hasbro products, the inflammatory allegations made by the NGO in their report were unsubstantiated by our investigation. As a matter of course, Hasbro will continue to monitor conditions at Jet Fair and all of our factories.

The Company has a strong track record and has had long-standing policies and processes in place for years to help ensure good working conditions, including health and safety, at factories making our products. We strive to conduct business throughout our supply chain in accordance with the highest ethical standards, and we utilize not only ICTI-- but also our own on-the-ground workforce-- to monitor social compliance.

For more information about Hasbro\'s comprehensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, including more detail regarding Hasbro\'s policies and practices related to ethical product manufacturing, please visit Hasbro.com/csr.

You can vierw the original press release at http://csr.hasbro.com/new01-news.php.

Other investigations have been made into the author of the report which bring into question his track record. As well known and respected Transformers related researcher Nevermore points out the writer of the report was already found just last week to have written a similar report about another Chinese factory where he had made some unsubstantiated claims as well. http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/22/kardashian-family-sweatshop-claims-not-true/, http://www.tmz.com/2011/12/21/kim-kardashian-factory-china-slave-labor-tmz-live/#.Tvnnppd6hIG. Whilst there may still be truth to the original report, these latest twist do back up Hasbro\'s stance.

Our thanks go out to Nevermore for the update on the story.

Two more Transformers comic titles launching in January from IDW

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Two more Transformers comic titles launching in January from IDW.

TWO ALL-NEW TRANSFORMERS SERIES DEBUTING IN JANUARY

“Two Titles, One Universe”

Two Series to follow shattering TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME issue in December

San Diego, CA (December 21, 2011)â€" Launching in January, IDW Publishing is proud to offer TRANSFORMERS and comics fans everywhere two new ongoing TRANSFORMERS comics series-- TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE and TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE. Under license from Hasbro, the two interrelated series are a direct continuation of IDW’s CHAOS event and spring directly out of the special TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME issue releasing in comic stores and online on December 21st. Both series will appeal to existing TRANSFORMERS fans and new readers. Featuring two great stories under one TRANSFORMERS comic universe, each series offers never-before-seen action, new threats and new villains that both current readers and those new to the series will enjoy.

“The response to the TRANSFORMERS ongoing series has been phenomenal,” says IDW senior editor John Barber. “This relaunch is a chance to jump onboard for anybody who might have been missing out. We’ve got big stories planned, and there’s never been a better time to read TRANSFORMERS.”

Created as a stepping on point for both fans of super-heroic and science fiction comics, as well as fans of the TRANSFORMERS characters, TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE and TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE each explore the new status quo coming out of IDW’s CHAOS event including BUMBLEBEE’s new leadership position for all TRANSFORMERS. The war between AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON is over, and now the hard part begins. In the new world of CYBERTRON, there are only two choices: stay or go.

Helmed by writer James Roberts with art and covers by Nick Roche, RODIMUS calls on his fellow AUTOBOTS to leave CYBERTRON in search of the KNIGHTS OF CYBERTRON in TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE. This lost tribe of TRANSFORMERS characters is, according to legend, the guardian of the original Cybertronian culture and RODIMUS and his followers begin a quest that will stretch to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to find the KNIGHTS and restore CYBERTRON to its past glory.

TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE, written by John Barber, with art and covers by Andrew Griffith, follows BUMBLEBEE and the AUTOBOTS remaining on CYBERTRON. Without OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE finds himself in command of a world gone mad. TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DIGUISE brings readers through the struggle to rebuild CYBERTRON as the AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS and civilian TRANSFORMERS, who don’t distinguish between the other two groups, all vie for control.

Each series will feature four interconnecting covers for issue #1. Marcele Matere creates the Cybertronian mosaic for TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DIGUISE, with Alex Milne bringing the explorers to life for TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.

These two new, action-packed series are the direct result of IDW’s CHAOS event, culminating in December’s TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME and TRANSFORMERS #31.

In addition to the print editions, IDW’S TRANSFORMERS comics are available digitally through Apple’s App Store in the free TRANSFORMERS app, which features every TRANSFORMERS comic in one place. Many TRANSFORMERS comics are available in the Sony Digital Comics store.

TRANSFORMERS #31 ($3.99, 32 pages; full color) will be available in December 2011. Diamond order code OCT11 0323.

TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME ($3.99, 32 pages; full color) will be available in December 2011. Diamond order code OCT11 0326.

Hasbro sues ASUS over Transformers Prime tablet

TransformerToys.co.uk has been updated with a new news story called Hasbro sues ASUS over Transformers Prime tablet.

DailtyTech reported yesterday that Hasbro are in a legal battel with ASUS over the name of their latest tablet.. Transformers Prime

Hasbro claims that the name of ASUS\' latest tablet, Transformer Prime, is much too similar to its line of Transformers toys

The battle is on: ASUS\' Transformer Prime v.s. Transformers\' Optimus Prime.

Toy maker Hasbro filed a lawsuit against computer manufacturer ASUS last week, claiming that the name of ASUS\' latest tablet, Transformer Prime, is much too similar to its line of Transformers toys.

\"Hasbro continues to aggressively protect its brands and products and the specific actions we are taking today against ASUS underscores yet again Hasbro\'s willingness to pursue companies who misappropriate our intellectual property for their own financial gain,\" said Hasbro.

Hasbro filed the lawsuit last week in Los Angeles federal court, and is seeking damages as well as a temporary injunction to stop ASUS from selling its Transformer Prime tablet.

The situation isn\'t looking good for Hasbro at this point. While ASUS\' Transformer Prime tablet does sound similar to Hasbro\'s leader of the Autobots, Transformer\'s Optimus Prime, the possibility of a child (or anyone) confusing the two is slim. The Transformer Prime doesn\'t convert into a truck, and the Transformer toys don\'t offer the Android operating system with apps and Web-browsing capabilities.

However, the Transformer Prime does attach to a keyboard dock. Does that qualify it as a Transformer?

The Transformer Prime features a 10-inch screen, NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 8 MP rear camera with a f/2.4 lens and back-illuminated sensor along with a 1.2 MP front-facing camera, 12-hour battery life, and Android 3.2 Honeycomb mobile operating system. It\'s priced at $499 for 32 GB and $599 for 64 GB.
